Evolution of the membrane and WASP as cells run over beads (2D counterpart to Fig. 3 C). With time, the membrane closes around the bottom of the bead, transitioning from an open hole to a subresolution closed neck. At the same time, WASP redistributes from coating the open membrane hole to focal enrichment at the closed neck. Arrows mark examples where this occurs.
