An implanted spinal cord stimulation system with a lead positioned in the epidural space is used to deliver multiplexed stimulation patterns (a fixed amplitude, low frequency program and a variable amplitude, high frequency program) to differential targets (electrodes 2 and 4) on the dorsal columns of the spinal cord.
