METTL3/METTL14 complex and YTHDF1 is necessary for the early development of B lymphocytes. METTL14 plays an unreplaceable role in the IL-7 induced Pro-B lymphocyte proliferation, Pro-B-to-Large-Pre-B transition, and Large-Pre-B-to-Small-Pre-B transition. YTHDF2 will recognize the m⁶A modification afterwards and decrease the transcripts as a result, which promote early B lymphocyte development. Notably, YTHDF2 only facilitate in the first two process. The Large-Pre-B-to Small-Pre-B Transition is independent of YTHDF1 or YTHDF2.
