Rates per 1000 person-years for incident early AMD, incident late AMD and progression by study and refined age groups. Rates per 1000 person-years were derived by 10-year age groups (KORA-Fit, KORA FF4) or 5-year age groups (AugUR) and assuming that the event occurred in the middle of the follow-up time. Shown are estimated rates and 95% CIs for (A) incident early AMD, (B) incident late AMD among individuals with no AMD at baseline (definition 1), (C) incident late AMD among individuals with no or early AMD at baseline (definition 2) and (D) progression from early to late AMD. For AMD classification, 3CACSS was applied. Note the different y-axes scales.
