Three-year risk of incident early AMD, incident late AMD and progression by age groups in the joint analysis. In a joint analysis across the three studies (combining individuals from the same age groups as applicable), 3-year risk estimates by age groups were derived from rates assuming event onset in the middle of follow-up. Shown are estimates and 95% CIs for (A) incident early AMD, (B) incident late AMD among individuals with no AMD at baseline (definition 1), (C) incident late AMD among individuals with no or early AMD at baseline (definition 2) and (D) progression from early to late AMD. Also stated are number of modelled events and person-years at risk. For AMD classification, 3CACSS was applied. Note the different y-axis scales.
