In situ hybridization of neurocan transcript during embryonic stages. The positive signals are present in the telencephalon (tc), thalamus (t), hypothalamus (ht), mesencephalon (mec), medulla oblongata (mo), cerebellum (cb), trigeminal ganglion (tg), spinal cord (sc), and dorsal root ganglion (drg) at E12.5 (A), E13.5 (B), and E14.5 (C). At E16.5, the neurocan mRNA is also seen in the peripheral ganglion (pg) above the kidney (D) and expressed in the eye (E).
