Landscape of LOH across the 14 chromosomes of the evolved clones. Shown are genotypes at 10 kb resolution of the strains, with media type shown on the left margin and strain name on the right margin. The ancestral genotype of the in vivo (larval) passaging was different from the in vitro (other media types), because the experiments began at different times. The reference genome coordinates are from the C. neoformans parent. White regions represent unmapped, typically repetitive regions of the genome, or regions of the genome that had undergone LOH in the ancestral diploid strains. In particular, ∼260 kb of the right arm of Chr. 2 underwent an LOH event in the ancestor before passaging.
