The in vitro time-kill studies of most potent compounds 2a–c against Staphylococcus aureus harboring genetically defined resistance mechanisms. The representative S. aureus strains (MRSA, MSSA, VRSA) were exposed at MIC concentration of compounds 2a–c or vancomycin for 24 h. The viable bacterial numbers in treatment groups or untreated control (UC) were calculated after dilution and plating. Data provided in the graphs are mean ± SD from 3 experimental replicas.
