Figure 6

Necroptosis is at least a major type of programmed cell death that is quickly triggered by DF or PM in the T-47D cells as results from (A) a significant inhibitory effect of NSA on the number of dying cells in the exposed cultures and from the ability of these variants to induce the activation of MLKL, which was detected by immunofluorescence (B,C) or immunoblotting (D,E) using the anti-phospho-MLKL (S358) antibody. All of the above experiments were performed as described in the legend in Figure 5. (A) The data are expressed as a percentage of the cells exhibiting Annexin V and/or propidium iodide staining and are presented as the mean ± SEM that was calculated for all of the images that were obtained in two independent experiments. (B) The results are expressed as the mean red fluorescence value per µm2 ± SEM. *—difference statistically significant (p ≤ 0.05) versus the control. (E) The results are expressed as the mean ± SD of three independent experiments. *—difference statistically significant (p ≤ 0.05) versus the control.
