Figure 8.

Figure 8 is a schematic illustration having two steps. Step 1: Macrophage, including peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor lowercase alpha and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma, diethylhexyl phthalate, M 1 with I L-6 T N F lowercase alpha, and M 2 with I L-1 R A, I L-10 lead to Hepatocyte. Step 2: Hepatocyte, including lipid uptake, mono(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, lipid synthesis, citrate, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor lowercase alpha, and mitochondria lead to fatty liver and oxidative phosphorylation with F A O and T C A lead to lipid homeostasis.

Schematic illustration for the impact of macrophage-specific PPARα and PPARγ activation on the fatty liver induction by DEHP. Note: DEHP, diethylhexyl phthalate; FAO, fatty acid oxidation; IL, interleukin; MEHP, mono(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate; OXPHOS, oxidative phosphorylation; PPAR, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor; TCA, tricarboxylic acid cycle; TNF, tumor necrosis factor.
