Gonococcal chromosomal DNA was amplified by PCR, and the resulting fragments were digested with HpaII (A) or TaqI (B), fractionated on polyacrylamide, and stained with silver nitrate. Brackets mark identical OPA types from different partnerships. The samples were electrophoresed on the same polyacrylamide gel, but lanes were repositioned for purposes of illustration.
