Lymphatic drainage of the nasopharyngeal region. Radiographic image from Pan et al. mapping lymphatic drainage from point of tracer injection near nasal turbinates to the cervical lymph nodes of the upper neck. Presumed lymphatic vessels drain into the lateral pharyngeal (level II) and retropharyngeal lymph nodes demonstrating an extensive lymphatic network extending from the nasal mucosa to the upper neck (Pan et al., 2009).
