SASC exhibits antiinflammatory and chondroprotective effects similar to ADSC. SASC reduced NO by Griess reagent assay (A), increased early chondrogenic marker SOX9 (B), and reduced catabolic gene expression of ADSMTS5 (C). SASC also reduced the autocrine inflammatory response of PRG4 (D).
