Main points of the admission consultation
  1. Mental state—alert, depressed, stupor, or comatose;

  2. Evaluation of the external auditory canal and tympanic membrane;

  3. Respiratory frequency and chest X-ray of three projections (right latero-lateral, left latero-lateral, and ventrodorsal projections);

  4. Heart rate and chest auscultation;

  5. Femoral pulse;

  6. Abdominal palpation to assess discomfort and the possible existence of abdominal mass. In case of suspected mass, the AFAST (abdominal focused assessment with sonography for trauma, triage, and tracking) was used to rule out neoplastic disease;

  7. Rectal temperature;

  8. Systolic blood pressure and mean blood pressure.
