Possible mechanisms by which M1 inhibition of complex I and Avo B inhibition of FAO result in toxicity (gray arrows). M1 inhibits complex I, which results in a decrease in electron transport and may increase free fatty acids, while Avo B inhibits FAO. The combined inhibition caused by M1 and Avo B may trigger lipotoxicity and/or a lethal integrated stress response.
