Zika virus load in different astrocyte cell lines. Cells were infected with ZIKV strains MR766 and PRVABC59 at a multiplicity of infection (MOI) of 0.1. (A–C) Staining of Zika virus envelope (Env) protein in CCF-STTG1 (A), HASTR/ci35 (B) and foetal-hTERT (C) astrocyte cell lines. HASTR/ci35 cells showed higher viral load followed by complete cell death. The 2 rows within each set of 8 panels correspond to merged images stained with 4G2 antibody to detect ZIKV envelope protein Env (stained green) and DAPI stain for cell nuclei (stained blue).
