Temporal cranial shape changes with respect to the average shape at birth calculated from the age coefficients of the model (matrix B) at different ages. Different shades of gray represent different cranial bones: left (L) and right (R) frontal (F), parietal (P), temporal (T) and occipital (O) bones. At each age, the first column shows the vectors indicating the local direction of shape change. The second column shows the colorcoded magnitude of those changes. Dark blue represents areas with no change and red represents areas with maximum change. The transparent wireframe overlay in the second column represents the initial shape at birth for reference. As the scale effect is removed, the magnitudes are represented as a percentage of the average scale.
