The braiding processes lead to the transfer of charge (frame charge −1, equivalently Euler class 1) from gap Δ11 (red triangles) to gap Δ10 (blue circles). The successive panels ae correspond to the braiding of Fig. 7b with ε < t < 1 − ε. The panels bd have the same positions of nodes, while the Dirac strings are moved around and the charges are flipped accordingly.
