Half-sarcomere lattice. (A) Rendering of the half-sarcomere lattice. Myosin heads from the thick filament can attach to binding sites on the surrounding thin filaments. This sarcomere lattice snapshot is generated using Blender (an open-source visualization software available at https://www.blender.org/). (B) A two-dimensional representation of a thin and a thick filament from the half-sarcomere lattice. Each filament is compliant, and represented as a series of nodes connected by linear springs. Actin binding sites are located on the thin filament nodes. Myosin heads and MyBP-C are located on the thick filament nodes. The thick filament is linked to the M-line by a rigid link of length λ to represent the bare zone. HSL is the half-sarcomere length.
