TGF-β signalling regulates the expression of VEGFA. TGFB1 increased the levels of VEGFA (43 and 25 kD) when cultured HCT-116 (A) and SW-480 (B) cells in media containing TGFB1 at relatively low concentrations (30–90 ng/mL). However, high concentrations of TGFB1 (120 ng/mL) decreased the levels of VEGFA. The angiogenetic inhibitors sorafenib (C) and BIBF1120 (D) decreased the levels of TGFB1, TGFBR1, and TGFBR2 by low dose but increased their levels by high dose in HCT116 cells.
