DLS experiments were performed in the presence of 8 µM human LDH-A tetramer (32 µM subunits) at pH 7.5 (A,D,G), 6.5 (B,E,H), or 5.0 (C,F,I), in the absence of any additive (A–C), or in the presence of 2.5 mM citrate (D–F), or NAD+/pyruvate (G–I) at 2.5 and 0.5 mM, respectively. The distributions of the observed scattering intensities (empty circles, average of three measurements) were deconvoluted with the Fityk software into an ensemble of Gaussian components (blue, red, and pink lines). The fittings to the experimental observations accordingly obtained are reported with green lines.
