FIGURE 1

Contractile stimulation induces Abi1 acetylation in smooth muscle cells. A, Human airway smooth muscle (HASM) cells were stimulated with 10‐4 M acetylcholine (ACh) for different time points. Abi1 acetylation was evaluated by immunoblot analysis using acetyl lysine (Ac‐lysine) antibody and Abi1 antibody. Data are mean values of experiments from six batches of cell culture. Error bars indicate SE. B, HASM cells were treated with different doses of ACh for 10 minutes followed by immunoblotting with antibodies against acetyl lysine and Abi1. Data are mean values of experiments from four batches of cell culture. Error bars indicate SE. C, Extracts of cells treated with 10‐4 M ACh were immunoprecipitated with Abi1 antibody and blotted with antibodies against acetyl lysine and Abi1. Data are mean values of experiments from three batches of cell culture. Error bars indicate SE. **P < .01 compared to ACh, 0 minutes or 0 dose
