Gal3Long1 vaccination alters the composition of the T-cell memory populations in the spleen. Mice (n = 6–8/group) were inoculated with EO771.LMB cells on day 0. After stratification into treatment groups on day 10, mice were vaccinated with a DMSO control or Gal3Long1 vaccine on day 10 and 17. On day 24, mice were sacrificed, spleens were harvested and flow cytometry was performed. (a and c) Percentages of Central Memory (CM) T cells of total (a) CD8+ T cells and (c) CD4+ T cells. (b and d) Percentages of Effector Memory (EM) T cells of total (b) CD8+ T cells and (d) CD4+ T cells. CD8+ and CD4+ TEM cells were gated as CD44+ CD62L of total CD8+ and CD4+ population, respectively; CD8+ and CD4+ TCM cells were gated as CD44+ CD62L+ of total CD8+ and CD4+ population, respectively. Each dot represents one mouse. Data are presented as the mean -/+ SD. Differences between groups were statistically evaluated with a Mann-Whitney test (** = p ≤ .01, *** = p ≤ .001, ns = not significant).
