FOS induced apoptosis by triggering phosphorylation of p38, ERK1/2, and p66Shc in HPdLFs. (a) FOS (30 μM) significantly increased ERK1/2 (44/42 KDa), p38 (43 KDa), and p66Shc (66 KDa) (pro-apoptotic and oxidative marker) phosphorylation, at 48 h in HPdLFs. (b) FOS-induced apoptosis was inhibited by pretreatment with p38 (5 mM SB203580) or ERK1/2 (10 mM U0126) inhibitors for 30 min in HPdLFs. (c) FOS-induced phosphorylation of the oxidative stress and apoptosis marker p66Shc was suppressed by pretreatment with p38 (5 mM SB203580) or ERK1/2 (10 mM U0126) inhibitors for 30 min in HPdLFs.
