Accuracy rates (%) as a function of TMS site (vertex, left cerebellum and early visual cortex) and valence of the emotion conveyed by the bodies in Experiment 2 (data collapsed across body orientation). Left cerebellar TMS significantly lowered participants’ ability to discriminate between negative emotions of anger and sadness compared to TMS over the vertex and the early visual cortex. In turn, left cerebellar TMS did not affect participants’ accuracy in discriminating between positive emotions of happiness and surprise.
