† : Adjusted for age in years; weight loss of 5 kg or more since 20 years old (yes, no); marital status at baseline (whether or not living with spouse; cigarette smoking (never smokers, past smokers, current smokers smoking 1-19 cigarettes per day, or current smokers smoking at least 20 cigarettes per day); alcohol drinking (never drinkers, past drinkers, or current drinkers); walking time per day (less than 1 hour, or 1 hour or longer). Multivariate RR2 has been estimated with the exclusion of 263 subjects (174 men and 89 women) who died within the first 3 years of follow-up. Numbers in parentheses are 95% confidence intervals.
