Lycium barbarum plant (A) is a deciduous shrub 1–3 m high with lanceolate leaves. The berries are orange to dark red, oblong, measure up to 2 cm and have a bitter-sweet taste (by courtesy of Mrs. Gilberta Dal Porto). The fruits of Goji plant are usually commercialized as dried berries (9) (B).
