Endothelial agrin is dispensable for the maintenance of vascular barrier integrity in vivo. The in vivo vascular permeability was examined at 30 min after intravenous injection of (A) 70 and (B) 10 kDa FITC conjugated Dextran into the tail veins of 6–8 weeks old EC-agrn+/+ and EC-agrncKO mice, respectively. Immunostaining on brain and lung frozen sections for CD31 (red), dextran (green) and nuclear counterstain by DAPI (blue) respectively showing no significant difference in vascular barrier integrity in vivo after endothelial loss of agrin, scale bars: 50 um.
