12 June 2007	New search has been performed	This review updates the existing review of "Prophylactic antibiotics to reduce morbidity and mortality in neonates with umbilical artery catheters", published in The Cochrane Library, Issue 3, 2004 (Inglis 2004). No new trials were identified as a result of our most recent search. Two quasi‐randomised trials previously excluded have now been included.
