Molecular characterization of aSyn-Tau interaction in rat SNpc. aSyn-Tau interaction in rat SNpc. Eight weeks after co-injection of VN-aSyn and Tau WT-VC in rat SNpc immunohistochemistry was performed. (A) Immunohistochemistry for phosphorylated epitopes of aSyn (pS129) and Tau (AT8) suggests that aSyn and Tau can be phosphorylated while they are interacting with each other. Scale bar: 50 µm (B) Distribution of aSyn and Tau after injection of VN-aSyn and Tau WT-VC in rat SNpc. aSyn distribution shows a clear transport of aSyn from the injected area to the striatum. In contrast, the expression of human Tau seems to be confined to the SNpc.
