Ecklonia cava 70% ethanol extract antioxidant activity in DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrayl) and ABTS (2,2-azino-di-(3-ethylbezothiazoline)-6-sulfonic acid assays. (A) the % free radical scavenging activity of E. cava and (B) IC50 DPPH assay. (C) ABTS scavenging activity with IC 50 (D). The absorbance of the sample and DPPH solutions was measured at 517 nm after incubation at 37 °C. Positive control was employed, which was ascorbic acid. After combining the ABTS solution with the samples, the absorbance at 734 nm was measured for the ABTS test. The results are expressed as the mean % inhibition ± SEM and IC50 (n = 3).
