Dapagliflozin improved the human islet response to glucose and arginine. Intravenous arginine and glucose tolerance tests were performed on day 53 in the study. Mice were challenged with 2 g/kg glucose and 0.25 g/kg arginine. (A) Glucose excursions during the first 10 min after intravenous administration of glucose and arginine with (B) corresponding insulin (human and mouse) levels. (C) Area under the curves (AUC) for glucose and insulin were calculated, and the ratio of AUCins over AUCglc is presented. The dotted line in A represents the highest glucose value that can be measured with the glucometer.
