Figure 7

Relative expression levels of candidate BLP resistance genes Glyma.17G090100 (A), Glyma.17G090200 (B), Glyma.17G090400 (C), Glyma.17G086300 (D), and Glyma.05G040500 (E) in BLP-resistant (W82) and -susceptible (Jack) soybean cultivars following Xag infection. The Xag strain EB08 was resuspended in 10 mM MgCl2 buffer to a final concentration of 1 × 108 CFU/mL. Then, the bacterial suspension was injected on the leaves of W82 and Jack with 10 mM MgCl2 buffer being used as the mock treatment. The inoculated soybean leaves were sampled at 0, 12, 24, 48, 72, and 120 hpi, representing different stages of Xag infection. The relative expression levels were measured using qRT-PCR with the ATP-binding cassette transporter gene Cons4 and an F-box protein family gene Cons6 being used as the reference genes. The relative expression levels were calculated using the comparative threshold Pfaffl method. Values are the mean ± the standard error of three independent biological repetitions. Asterisks denote statistically significant difference (* p ≤ 0.05, ** p ≤ 0.01) between W82 and Jack by Student’s t-test.
