PP2C activity of FsPP2C1 (▪) and ABI2 (○) proteins. Reaction mixture (90 μL) contained 40 ng of each fusion protein in 50 mm Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 0.1% (v/v) 2-mercaptoethanol, and 10 mm magnesium acetate. The reactions were incubated with ³²P-labeled casein at 30°C for the indicated time periods. Phosphatase activity in the abscense of Mg²⁺ ions (●). Values have been subtracted from the amount of ³²Pi (inorganic phosphate) released in control samples without protein. Each value represents the average of duplicate assays and phosphatase activity is expressed as nmol of ³²Pi released per mg of protein.
