The standard deviation of the percentiles is also estimated (given after “ ± ”) with bootstrapping. For each variable examined, the TCs with major landfalls are resampled for 10,000 times with replacements and a distribution of the percentiles of the median is then obtained (with 10,000 samples). The standard deviation is calculated with the resampled percentile distribution.
