C-Ala of CeAlaRS_c robustly binds both tRNA and DNA. Protein–RNA or protein–DNA binding affinities were determined by an electrophoretic mobility shift assay with protein concentrations ranging from 16 to 0.0625 or 32 to 0.03 μM. The ³²P-labeled CetRNA_n^Ala (•), SctRNA_n^Phe (○), SctRNA_n^His (□), BttRNA^Pro (▪), Ec-micro^Ala (▴) and CetDNA^Ala (Δ) are shown.
