(A) Phylogenetic species concept relies on parsimony in reconstructions of taxa relatedness and groups organisms by shared traits; (B) biological species concept draws boundaries based on reproductive isolation wherein organisms incapable of producing viable offspring are considered separate species; (C) morphological species concept distinguishes species using macro and micro morphology, including colony appearance, pigmentation, conidia, mycelia, and spores; (D) ecological species concept evaluates biogeographical ranges and potential niches to delimit taxonomic groups.
