Efficient elimination of Neurod1 by Foxg1-Cre is shown in delaminating neuroblasts and the inner ear ganglion. Cre recombinase (red) was detected as early as E9.5 in mouse Foxg1 Cre/+ otocyst (A,B,E,F). Neurod1 (white) is eliminated using Foxg1Cre in mutants at E9.5 (J) as well as at E10.5 (L), while in controls, NEUROD1 is expressed in delaminating neurons (I,K) that are co-labeled by Isl1 antibody (green; MP).
