The dark-adapted maximum photosystem II quantum yield (Fv/Fm), the functional absorption cross-section of PSII (σPSII), the time constant for electron transfer at PSII (τQA) and the connectivity between adjacent photosystems (P) were determined at the start and the end of the experiment from the communities sampled West and East after exposure to different Fe and Mn availabilities. Values represent the mean ± SD (n > 10). Different letters indicate significant differences between treatments (p < 0.05).
