Differentiation of Th17 cell. Naive T cells can be differentiated into three subsets of T helper cells by different cytokines. IL-4 and IL-12 cytokines can increase the differentiation of Th2 and Th1 cells, respectively, and the cytokines secreted by these cells suppress the differentiation of Th17 cells. In contrast, the cytokines IL-23, IL-6, TGF-β, and IL-21 enhance Th17 cell differentiation
