Copy number of 529-bp fragments in cardiac tissues from mice. Mice were intraperitoneally injected with 103 tachyzoites of the highly virulent Toxoplasma gondii RH strain 1 week after the last immunization. One week later, five animals in each group were sacrificed, and cardiac tissues were harvested. Each DNA extract was run in triplicate, and the average value of each animal was calculated. Values are shown as mean ± SD (n = 5), and significance was evaluated by one-way ANOVA followed by Dunnett’s test. Values among the TgP2-pVAX1, TgP2-pVAX1/PLGA, and TgP2-pVAX1/CS group were pairwise compared by ANOVA following Bonferroni’s correction. **p < 0.01 and ***p < 0.001 compared with blank or control group.
