Endoscopic findings—gastroscopy done prior to surgery showed that the GSF (white arrow) was on the posterior wall of the fundus and at a safe distance from the gastro-oesophageal junction. Endoscopic imaging was also important to assess that there was no neoplastic involvement of the stomach itself and therefore plan accordingly for the proper type of resection.
