Adjusted mean difference is from a linear mixed model that adjusts for the random effects of clinics, and repeated effects of the clinical measure over time patient. In addition, each model adjusts for the effects of study group, time, baseline clinical value, interactions group x time and baseline value x time, duration of diabetes and type of insurance. All participants with baseline and at least one follow-up measure were included to make the model robust
