The morphologies of the NPCs were captured using cryo-(cryo-electron microscopy) and/or cryo-ET (cryo-electron tomography) in the isolated NPC sample, purified NE sample, and native cellular environment. Cryo-FIB milling technique was used to obtain NPC images in the native cellular environment except the case of Ref. 145.
