Komagataeibacter polyoxogenes strain NBI1028 was formerly referred to as Acetobacter polyoxogenes (19).
AldGH activity was routinely determined at pH 5.0 in this study but at pH 6.0 in the study by Fukaya et al. The ferricyanide reductase activity at pH 5.0 would be half of that at pH 6.0.
The ferricyanide reductase activity at pH 8.0 was higher than that at pH 7.0, but a weak chemical reduction of ferricyanide by acetaldehyde occurred. We tentatively conclude that pH 7.0 is optimal for the ferricyanide reductase activity of the AldGH subcomplex.
