High risk | Examples include: Previous VTE (and not on current anticoagulation) Thrombophilia Within 6 weeks of major surgery Current malignancy |
If travel is essential, consider: low-molecular-weight heparin or formal anticoagulation (including return journey) This requires careful clinical assessment |
