Solution conditions are 1 μM GroEL, 200 mM ammonium acetate, and 125 μM ATP. Note that Zavg for n = 1–4 are similar, but larger changes in Zavg are observed for n = 5–9. At T >24 °C the ion abundances for n = 6–9 are below the detection threshold. Also, the abundance of n = 5 begins to decline at T >24 °C. This behavior is very different from that obtained by using ethylenediammonium diacetate buffer (vide infra).
