Interaction between cognitive status and cerebral small vessel disease burden on global diffusion metrics. Plots depict significant interactions between cognitive status (Montreal Cognitive Assessment [MoCA]<26 vs. ≥26) and total SVD scores (0-3) on mean diffusivity, axial diffusivity, and radial diffusivity (all p<.05; depicted with *), but not for fractional anisotropy. The association between SVD burden and DTI parameters is more pronounced in individuals with cognitive impairments, reflected by MoCA < 26, and especially in the most severe SVD burden group.
