Immunohistochemical staining of cleaved SNAP-25 (cSNAP-25) in the trigeminal nucleus caudalis (TNC) ipsilateral to BoNT-A injections in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) on day 14 after 7-U/kg onabotulinumtoxinA (onBoNT-A) or 14-U/kg abobotulinumtoxinA (aboBoNT-A) injection. In the epifluorescent microphotographs, yellow arrows indicate cSNAP-25-positive individual fibers (in bright red), while the blue counterstain represents the cell nuclei stained by 4′,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI).
