Reset neurectomy of the greater occipital nerve. A, Prior to transection of the GON, a suture is placed proximal and distal to the planned site of division. This will prevent the proximal nerve stump from retracting deep into the cervical musculature. B, After nerve transection, the suture is tied down. C, Then, the distal nerve stump is cut and another suture (D) is placed to ensure correct alignment of the nerve under no tension.
